ARTIST STATEMENT
RACHEL SIMOONS
The 'digital vestige' rings are slabs of obscure electronic hieroglyphics, capturing the weight of the digital. They are inverted mimics of signet rings: the technological world leaving its mark on us. One-off casts taken from waste electronic components, these pieces are a play with soft and hard, energy and matter, the moment and what will last.
