ARTIST STATEMENT
CIARA STEGGERDA
My body of work explores the concept of the talisman, investigating the depths of comfort and ritual. I utilise a diverse range of inert and degradable materials including fine silver, copper, grass, paper and found objects. My aesthetic interest lies in symbolism and the whimsical characteristics of materials I use. I embrace both their spiritual and animistic aspects, allowing the spirit of the material to guide my creative process.
