ARTIST STATEMENT
MENGTING ZOU
My project, inspired by ever-changing clouds, explores the transient nature of possessions and body image. Using traditional jewellery techniques like repoussé, enameling, and contemporary method vacuum forming. I create cloud necklaces that challenge contemporary beauty ideals. Through the "cloud voluptuous lady" concept, I celebrate diverse body shapes and advocate for selfacceptance, encouraging individuals to embrace their unique physical beauty. This work invites reflection on the past and promotes openness towards body image, urging society to appreciate the inherent aesthetics in all forms.
