ARTIST STATEMENT
LORRAINE BRIGDALE
In a diversion away from her usual art practice in painting and weaving Brigdale, a YortaYorta woman, worked as a member of the Koorie Heritage Trust ‘Blak Design’ program 2022. Her contemporary jewellery collection is titled ‘Remember’ and is inspired by the weaving practice of aboriginal women depicted in silver and wire Dilly Bags in 2D and 3D form. The program culminated in an exhibition ‘Layers of Blak’ at the KHT in Federation Square and is currently on tour around several Victorian regional galleries.
