ARTIST STATEMENT
HONGYU CHEN
My practice revolves around feelings and emotions and this series of works describe our fragile feelings. I used the structure of the metal ring and the delicacy of cotton and paper to represent the fragile relationships between people. I believe that in life when we experience unfortunate events and this series of work is based on the different stages of my emotions. I have shared the weakest side of my heart to the viewer and in revealing my weakness I wish to provide support and comfort to others.
