ARTIST STATEMENT
EMMA BYRNE
Emma Byrne is a Naarm based artist who works with beading and adornment to communicate important questions. Having completed a Bachelor of Fine Art in Gold and Silversmithing, 2023, Byrne's work spans many mediums including precious metals, recycled materials and elements from the natural world. Driven by a desire to build relationships with her chosen mediums, Byrne's works are often repetitive in nature allowing for deep contemplation during the making process. With a background in dance, Byrne is drawn to movement and how once can interact with beads on and off the body.
