ARTIST STATEMENT

SARAH LOCKY

My jewellery informed practice focuses on the notion of interconnectedness, most specifically, humanities relationship with nature. By engaging with found, worn and waste materials derived from the natural environment, I create tactile jewellery objects who’s intriguing forms are drawn from the world of plants and flowers.

Focusing on environmental concerns including the exploitation and commodification of the natural world, I explore issues of human consumption and climate breakdown. Aiming to elicit future discourse around both sustainable living and ethical jewellery making practices.
