ARTIST STATEMENT
JESSICA PHIPPEN
In my practice, I explore the transmutation of tension and connection between the viewer and the art object within space. I delve into the interplay between mental perception and bodily sensation, emphasising how these dynamics react to tactility. This process transforms tension into a meaningful connection, as the viewer navigates their instinct to either interact with or distance themselves from the work. In subtly stretching these dynamics, I create an engaging experience across the relational and sensory dimensions of art.
