ARTIST STATEMENT
ANGELIQUE FRY
My practise delves into intuition, and its ability to precipitate creation. This exploration has lead me to work with cuttle fish casting to develop a meaningful process lead practise. Eternal loop~all my cuttle is a collection of 7 detailed forms which emphasise the rippled patterns of the cuttle fish. These forms are inspired by belt buckles with the repetition of spirals, loops, open forms and rings connecting to the symbolism of loyalty, eternity and memory in Victorian buckle jewellery.
